A little about me
Rebekah Jackson writes witty, heartfelt contemporary Young Adult romance and coming of age novels featuring characters you might pass on the street. Her stories explore the intersection of joy and life’s inescapable grit–the moments that make life meaningful.
Splitting time as a child between Los Angeles and a town with no stoplight in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, she studied abroad, earned a degree in international relations, and worked in corporate technology. Her day job offered a masterclass in human behavior and travel around the world, literally (holy jet lag!). With a rich trove of sights, sounds, and smells squirreled away, she now spends her time arguing with obstinate characters, searching for that one perfect word, and thinking a lot about love – in all of its forms.

A Biography, Deconstructed
- I grew up celebrating both Hanukkah and Christmas.
- You’re looking at an actual red-headed stepchild. It’s not so bad; at one point I had ten grandparents.
- I’ve swum with sharks–literally and figuratively–and danced with them in high school.
- I lived in Turku, Finland for four months. It never got dark at night.
- By some tremendous good fortune, I’ve experienced the northern lights (aurora borealis) and a total solar eclipse. Both left me awestruck.
- One of my earliest picture books was There’s No Such Thing As A Dragon. It may have inspired my dragon collection.
- I didn’t read by flashlight under the covers at night. My closet had a light so I sat on the floor with the door closed. That was far more comfortable.
- I never expected to write books. Now I do. Life is full of surprises!
